Role responsibilities: Generalist – Painting, pre-drilling

What made you want to volunteer for the effort?
Volunteering has been a part of my life for the last 15+ years, but I haven’t done anything on this scale where you immediately see a tangible impact on people’s lives, I felt it was an experience of a lifetime that I didn’t want to let pass by.

What is your favorite memory from the experience?
So many great memories, but the kids holding my hand and singing was such a precious moment.

Did you learn anything new while working on the project?
I had zero construction experience, so that process was all new.  But one simple thing is a wave and a smile are universal.

Have you done something similar to Bridges to Prosperity before?
No

Anything else you’d like to add?
The trip was much more physically demanding than expected, but overall the experiences was everything I hoped it would be and more.  I had a great team of people, and I couldn’t imagine doing it with any other 9 individuals.  It was an experience I will cherish forever.
