JBWS Charleston Homes team recognized by Maritime Law Enforcement Academy

JBWS Charleston Homes team recognized by Maritime Law Enforcement Academy

Over the past several weeks, our property site teams have been challenged to not only to change the way operations are run, but to meet the needs of service members and their families as the military changes its course.

The Maritime Law Enforcement Academy in Charleston was forced to shut down its training facility with no advance notice for students—leaving many without a home to go back to. The JBWS Charleston Homes team was able to work with their leadership team and find a place for each student.

Captain J.H.D. Solomon, Commander, sent the following letter of appreciation to the JBWS Charleston Homes team:

Dear Kacy,

On behalf of the Maritime Law Enforcement Academy, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to you for the amazing support that you provided us over the past two weeks. The Novel Coronavirus caused our training facility to shut down with no notice, displacing nearly a dozen students without housing. Through your exceptional efforts to quickly process applications and make houses available, you secured each of these Coast Guardsmen a place to call home.

We were heartened by your dedication to our Coast Guard personnel who are continuing to perform their military duties during this period of uncertainty. Your actions helped these individuals establish themselves during these difficult times and enabled them to remain focused on our current missions.

Thank you again for your assistance, and for helping the Maritime Law Enforcement Academy and the United States Coast Guard remain ‘Semper Paratus—Always Ready!’

Sincerely, J.H.D. Solomon, Captain, U.S. Coast Guard Commander
